Founded in 1999, Bunny Lu is a 501(C)3 registered non-profit rabbit rescue. We typically take in 150-200 buns a year and find them indoor homes where they will be loved and cared for, for the rest of their lives. At any time we have 50-60 rabbits at the rescue and in foster homes. We take rabbits in when local (and sometimes not so local) shelters are full or have rabbits with medical or behavioral issues. We prioritize taking in at-risk rabbits from shelters, but do also accept owner surrenders on a limited, case-by-case basis and accept rabbits that are in a life-threatening situation.
Bunny Lu provides bunny-sitting service so their humans can vacation without worry that your rabbits are being properly cared for. Bun-sitters relax in a large pen (4’x6’ minimum) with furniture to enjoy. All bunnies get pellets and veggies twice a day, along with fresh hay & water…just like all the bunnies in the rescue.
We also sell bunny supplies, such as Orchard/Timothy hay, Mazuri pellets, Selective Naturals treats, papaya, bunny furniture and much more! We rely on the sale of supplies, bun sitting, and donations to provide a roof over their heads, food in their tummies, and medical care.
